The North Central Railway (NCR) has released an employment notice inviting online applications for recruitment against the Sports Quota for the year 2024-25. The recruitment is open for both male and female sportspersons who meet the required sports standards and educational qualifications. Candidates selected through this process will be appointed to Group ‘C’ positions in various sports categories, with pay grades ranging from Rs. 5200 to Rs. 20200, plus grade pay as per the 7th CPC pay matrix.

Application Fee:
- For General/OBC candidates: Rs. 500 (Refundable Rs. 400 if the candidate attends the trial examination).
- For SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PWD/Women/Minorities/Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates: Rs. 250 (Refundable if the candidate appears for the trial).
- Non-refundable Fee: The application fee is non-refundable unless specified.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Sports Norms for Recruitment:
To be eligible for these positions, candidates must meet the minimum sports achievements as mentioned for each pay band:
- For Pay Band – I (Grade Pay Rs. 1800):
- Represented the country in Category-C Championships or
- Secured 3rd position in the Federation Cup Championships (Senior) or
- Represented a state in Senior National Championships and secured at least 8th position.
- For Pay Band – I (Grade Pay Rs. 1900/2000):
- Represented the country in Category-B Championships, or
- Secured at least 3rd position in Category-C Championships, or
- Secured 3rd position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships, or
- Secured 1st position in the Federation Cup Championships (Senior).
- For Pay Band – I (Grade Pay Rs. 2400/2800):
- Secured at least 3rd position in Category-B Championships (excluding Gold in Asian Games) or equivalent events.
2. Education Qualification:
Candidates must meet the following educational criteria:
- For GP 1800 (Level – 01): Minimum qualification of 10th pass or equivalent/ITI.
- For GP 1900/2000 (Level – 02/03): Minimum qualification of Intermediate or equivalent.
- For GP 2400/2800 (Level – 04/05): Minimum qualification of a degree from a recognized institution or university.
Note: For technical posts, candidates should have passed an Act Apprenticeship/ITI from a recognized institution.
3. Age Limit:
Candidates must be between 18 to 25 years as of 01.01.2025. No age relaxation is allowed.
Recruitment Process:
The selection process involves trials and assessment of sports achievements. Only candidates who are successful in the trials will move forward in the recruitment process. The final decision regarding the recruitment process will be made by the NCR’s headquarters. A candidate’s application can be rejected at any stage if the information provided is found to be false.
