North Eastern Railway (NER) has announced a major recruitment drive for apprenticeship training in various units across its jurisdiction. The apprenticeship program will be conducted under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and the Apprenticeship Rules, 1962, offering a variety of trades and positions.

Age Limit:
- Minimum Age: Candidates must be at least 15 years old as of January 24, 2025.
- Maximum Age: Candidates should not be older than 24 years as of January 24, 2025.
- Age Relaxation for SC/ST Candidates: A 5-year relaxation in the upper age limit.
- Age Relaxation for OBC Candidates: A 3-year relaxation in the upper age limit.

Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of 50% marks in High School (10th Grade) is required.
- Completion of ITI in the relevant trade on or before the date of the notification (January 24, 2025).
Physical Standards:
Candidates selected for document verification must submit a medical certificate issued by an authorized medical officer. Divyang candidates will be evaluated according to the guidelines provided by the Railway Board.
Processing Fee:
Candidates applying for the apprenticeship training will need to pay a processing fee of Rs. 100. However, SC/ST, Divyang (PwBD), and Women candidates are exempt from paying the processing fee.
Contract and Terms:
Selected candidates will be required to execute an Apprenticeship Contract under the Apprentices Act, 1961. If the selected candidate is a minor, their parent or guardian must sign the contract. The candidates will be governed by the provisions of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1962 and must adhere to the rules and regulations set by the Railway Administration.
In case an applicant discontinues the apprenticeship without a valid reason, they may be required to refund the stipend and any costs incurred during the training.
Additional Information:
- No Travel Allowances (TA) or Dearness Allowances (DA) will be provided to the candidates called for document verification.
- The decision of the Railway Administration regarding the apprenticeship training will be final and binding.
