In a horrifying case of betrayal and premeditated murder, a 29-year-old merchant navy officer, Saurabh Rajput, was allegedly killed by his wife, Muskan (27), and her lover, Sahil (25), in Uttar Pradesh. The crime, which involved stabbing, dismemberment, and an elaborate cover-up, has sent shockwaves through the local community.

A Chilling Crime Unfolds

According to police reports, Rajput was murdered on March 4 inside his home in Indira Nagar Phase 2, Brahmpuri. The accused stabbed him to death, then chopped his body into pieces, and placed the remains inside a large drum filled with cement to conceal the crime. The drum was then left inside the house, giving no immediate clue of the brutal act.

A Web of Deception

To avoid suspicion, Muskan used Rajput’s phone to send misleading messages to his family, pretending that he was away for work. However, her story began to unravel as family members grew suspicious when they lost contact with Rajput.

Concerned about his sudden disappearance, Rajput’s relatives filed a missing person report, prompting police to launch an investigation. Authorities soon turned their focus to Muskan and Sahil, whose inconsistent statements raised red flags.

After intense questioning, the duo confessed to the crime, revealing the chilling details of how they planned and executed the murder.

Shocking Post-Crime Behavior

Adding to the horror, police discovered that Muskan and Sahil went on a vacation to a hill station just days after the murder, as if nothing had happened. “They were enjoying their time, completely unfazed, while the victim’s body lay hidden inside their home,” said Additional Superintendent of Police Ayush Vikram Singh.

The Troubled Marriage and Motive Behind the Murder

Investigations have revealed that Rajput and Muskan had a love marriage in 2016, despite opposition from their families. They later relocated to a rented house in Indira Nagar Phase 1, living there with their three-year-old daughter.

While the exact motive is still being examined, police suspect that Muskan’s extramarital affair with Sahil and a strained marriage led to the gruesome act. Investigators are now looking into whether there were previous threats or prior planning leading up to the murder.

Legal Action and Ongoing Investigation

Both Muskan and Sahil have been arrested and are facing charges under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including murder and destruction of evidence.

Rajput’s remains have been sent for a post-mortem, and forensic teams are working to analyze further evidence that could help reconstruct the crime. Authorities are also investigating whether any third party was involved or if this crime was planned over a long period.

As the legal process unfolds, justice for Saurabh Rajput remains the priority for law enforcement. This shocking crime serves as a grim reminder of how betrayal and hidden relationships can take a dark and deadly turn.
