Role Overview

As an Assistant Manager – Operations, your primary responsibility will be supporting our fund accounting services for a wide range of clients, including mutual funds, insurance companies, portfolio management services (PMS), and alternative investment funds. You’ll be expected to maintain excellent relationships with internal teams, act as an expert in your area of operation, and assist in implementing long-term strategic goals within the department.

Key Responsibilities

Business Operations & Functionality

  • Security Master Setup and Corporate Actions: You’ll be responsible for ensuring that security data is correctly tracked and processed, including the handling of corporate actions.
  • Reconciliation: You’ll need to regularly reconcile stock positions and cash transactions between custody and fund accounting systems.
  • Client Billing and Reporting: You’ll prepare and generate accurate client bills and regulatory reports according to deadlines.
  • Process Improvement: We value efficiency and automation, so you’ll contribute to process improvements, identifying opportunities to streamline operations and reduce costs.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring that service-level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met.
  • Keep an eye on competitor services and identify ways HSBC can improve or offer additional value to clients.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Foster an environment where your team members can learn, grow, and perform at their best.
  • Drive improvements in team efficiency and morale by automating processes and creating learning opportunities.

  • Maintain HSBC’s internal control standards and ensure compliance with both internal policies and external regulations.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • A solid understanding of financial accounting is essential for this role.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, preferably with a focus on accounting, is preferred.
  • Prior exposure to capital markets will be an advantage.
  • Ideally, you will have 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Minimum graduation (or higher) is required.
