- Exemptions: Women candidates, SC/ST, PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities), and Ex-servicemen are exempt from paying the application fee.
The application fee must be paid online via the SBI e-pay gateway. Other modes of payment will not be accepted, and applications without the correct payment will be rejected.

DSSSB has announced 432 vacancies for the position of Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) across various subjects. The available subjects and the number of vacancies for each are as follows:
- PGT Hindi (Male/Female) – 91 vacancies
- PGT Mathematics (Male/Female) – 31 vacancies
- PGT Physics (Male/Female) – 5 vacancies
- PGT Chemistry (Male/Female) – 7 vacancies
- PGT Biology (Male/Female) – 13 vacancies
- PGT Economics (Male/Female) – 82 vacancies
- PGT Commerce (Male/Female) – 37 vacancies
- PGT History (Male/Female) – 61 vacancies
- PGT Geography (Male/Female) – 23 vacancies
- PGT Political Science (Male/Female) – 78 vacancies
- PGT Sociology (Male/Female) – 5 vacancies
The highest number of vacancies are in PGT Economics (82) and PGT History (61), with other subjects having varied vacancy numbers.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications:
To be eligible for the position of PGT, candidates must meet the following educational requirements:
- Post Graduate Degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university.
- A B.Ed. degree (or equivalent) from a recognized institution is mandatory. Candidates with B.A. B.Ed., B.Sc. B.Ed., or M.Ed. are also eligible.
Age Limit:
The maximum age limit for candidates in the general category is 36 years as of 14th February 2025. Age relaxations are applicable as follows:
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years
- OBC candidates: 3 years
- PwBD + UR/EWS candidates: 10 years
- PwBD + SC/ST candidates: 15 years
- PwBD + OBC candidates: 13 years
- Departmental candidates: Up to 5 years for Group ‘B’ posts
- Ex-servicemen: Military service period plus 3 years (maximum up to 55 years)
Other Requirements:
- Citizenship: Candidates must be citizens of India.
- Experience: While the advertisement does not specify prior teaching experience, candidates must meet the education and age criteria.
Pay Scale
The position of Post Graduate Teacher comes with a Pay Level 8 under the pay matrix, offering a salary range of ₹47,600 to ₹1,51,100. In addition to the basic pay, the selected candidates will also receive other allowances and benefits as per the government’s regulations.
This role is in Group ‘B’, which means that it is a Non-Ministerial, Non-Gazetted position.

Selection Process
The selection of candidates for the Post Graduate Teacher positions will be done through a multi-stage process:
- Written Examination: The first stage involves a written examination that will test candidates’ knowledge in their respective subjects.
- Document Verification & Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. Depending on the department’s requirements, an interview may also be conducted.
