DMRC Recruitment 2025: Supervisor (Track Machines) – Post-Retirement Contractual Engagement

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, plays a crucial role in providing a world-class Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) in Delhi. With a dedicated workforce of over 14,000 employees, DMRC serves approximately 61 lakh passengers daily.

To meet its operational requirements, DMRC is inviting applications from retired or working professionals with experience in Track Maintenance, Track Machines, and Bridge Departments of Indian Railways for the post of Supervisor (Track Machines). This recruitment will be on a Post-Retirement Contractual Engagement (PRCE) basis.

Job Details

  • Educational Qualification: Full-time three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Government Institute/University (Applicants possessing advanced educational qualifications are also welcome to apply.).
  • Age Limit (as of 01.02.2025):
    • Minimum: 55 years
    • Maximum: 62 years

Eligibility Criteria (as of 01.02.2025)

To apply for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Work Experience:
    • Must have worked in Track Maintenance, Track Machines Operations & Maintenance, or the Bridge Department in Indian Railways.
    • Should have supervisory experience of at least five years in the relevant field in the Civil Department.
    • Must be familiar with computerized working environments.
    • Should be free from Disciplinary & Appeal (D&A) cases and Vigilance issues.
  2. Current Employment Status:
    • Retired candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can apply.
    • If currently employed in Railways, candidates must opt for Voluntary Retirement (VRS) or retire before joining DMRC.

Pay Scale Eligibility

Candidates must have worked in, or retired from, the following CDA pay scales (7th CPC):

  • Level-6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400) (Pre-revised Grade Pay: ₹4,200)
  • Level-7 (₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400) (Pre-revised Grade Pay: ₹4,600)

Candidates must have held these grades on a regular basis, and MACP benefits will not be considered.

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of track machines in the Delhi Metro network. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Track Machine Operations & Maintenance:
    • Supervising Rail Grinding and Track Tamping operations.
    • Ensuring smooth functioning and maintenance of track machines.
  2. Record Keeping & Inventory Management:
    • Maintaining progress reports and machine maintenance records.
    • Managing storekeeping and spare parts inventory, including logistics and transportation.
  3. Tendering & Contract Management:
    • Handling Track Machine-related tenders and contracts.
    • Managing repair and overhauling work not covered under existing contracts.
  4. Procurement & Budgeting:
    • Procuring assets and spare parts required for smooth operations.
    • Managing Budget Estimates (BE) and Revised Estimates (RE) for the department.
    • Handling SAP entries and billing-related work.
  5. Hiring & Supervision of Track Machines:
    • Providing track machines to other metro networks on a hiring basis.
    • Supervising Operation & Maintenance (O&M) work for new and existing metro tracks.

Term of Engagement

  • The appointment will be on a Post-Retirement Contractual basis for one year initially.
  • The contract may be extended based on DMRC’s requirements and candidate’s performance.

Salary & Benefits

The selected candidate will receive fixed consolidated pay based on their last substantive grade (excluding MACP benefits):

  • JE Level-6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400) – ₹51,100/- per month
  • SE Level-7 (₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400) – ₹59,800/- per month

Additional benefits, including HRA/Lease facilities, will be provided as per DMRC policy.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of:

  1. Personal Interview:
    • Candidates will be evaluated on their technical expertise, experience, and suitability for the role.
    • Other factors such as aptitude, problem-solving skills, and adaptability will also be considered.
  2. Medical Examination:
    • Selected candidates must clear DMRC’s medical fitness test under Aye-One (A-1) category (not below Aye-Three (A-3)) before final selection.
